TT [2/3] : Berry Awesome Berryz

Berryz Koubou members; Shimizu Saki (Captian), Tsugunaga Momoko, Tokunaga Chinami, Suudou Maasa, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Ishimura Maiha (graduated), Kumai Yurina, and Sugaya Risako.

This is Take Two of an untitled entry, my third on hype. I'm trying to be more organized this time around, so I might be splitting previous entries into parts (which will be noted in new entry titles) so that I'm not jumping from group to group as much. Now with that out of the way, Onward!

I fell in love with Berryz the moment I discovered them. In my early fan days I probably would have ranked the main H!P groups as thus; 1st Berryz, 2nd Buono, 3rd C-ute / Morning Musume. I think Berryz will always be my favorite group. I really like other groups within H!P, but Berryz has a special place in my heart. They were my first love and are important to me~

BK has so many awesome songs!!! Of their 24 singles, there are only about five that I like somewhat less than the rest (VERY BEAUTY, Tsukiatteru no ni Kataomoi, Dschinghis Khan, Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance, and Shining Power). And on top of that; I know and like a lot of Berryz B-sides, which I cannot say when it comes to Momusu and C-ute.



Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai, Berryz's debut song! "This song is so cool! I'll admit, the very first time I listened...the intro made me go; WTH? But it grew on me and now I totally love it. All the girls are so young in this single! Cuuute. And they sang as good back then as they do now." That's what I said previously about this song, and I still think the same today.

One thing about H!P that amazes me is how many of it's members are more experienced with being an idol (performing live, dancing, singing, etc) than some 20+ year olds! Maybe some people think that it's wrong for the girls to start so young (like Airi did, and other eggs), but I think H!P is a wonderful opportunity. Anyways, back to the song.

I love the cute-rapper vibe of this song!!! The verses and pre-chorus' are so darn catchy and I always want to belt out the lyrics along with the girls in the chorus. I'm always swaying in my seat and nodding my head & stuff while listening LOL. The girls show lots of personality in the PV, with the dancing, poses and facial expressions. I just adore them!

I like Risako, Momo and Miyabi in this song. I know that they are the ones who get the most attention (along with Yurina) in almost every BK single, but I think they're really good. I'm not surprised that Chinami only has one solo in this song, though it kind of sucks to see that that's never changed, in all of their 24 singles. Saki has a whole two solos in this song, which is also lame 'cause she's seriously darling.

One thing that makes me ridiculously happy about this song is that Maasa actually has lines!!!! As in several! And she gets camera time to go with them!! In singles 20 to 24, Maasa gets only one solo per song. She gets to say two words in their 6th, and in several songs has no solos. I know C-ute can be unfair but you have to admit that it's somewhat the same in Berryz ;w;

It took me a while to pay Maasa attention, but once I did I fell in love with her. So looking through the color coded lyrics to this song and seeing her color popup more than once really excited me. It's been a while since I listened to this song and now that I am right now, I hear how awesome Maasa's lines are!! I also love Saki! YAY CAPTAIN! Though, Chinami to this day hasn't really wowed me.
