Eight C-ute Cuties [1/4]

C-ute Members; Umeda Erika (graduated), Yajima Maimi, Murakami Megumi (graduated), Nakajima Saki, Suzuki Airi, Okai Chisato, Hagiwara Mai, Arihara Kanna (graduated).

In a way, I feel bad for C-ute. For starters, they were formed out of the girls from Hello! Project Kids who were not chosen to make up Berryz Koubou. As such, they got a later start; C-ute's first single was released 05/06/2006, more than two years after BK released their first single. I also think that some fans think less of them, perhaps as Berryz rejects.

I'll easily admit that when I first took an interest into H!P, C-ute did not catch my attention. When I talked to other fans on YT, I'd say 'oh I don't care much for them' or something similar. But I never really gave them a chance. And it's a SHAME.

Until S/mileage came around, they were the only group to have indies within the main faces of H!P (MM, BK, C-). And their indies are awesome!! I think Massara Blue Jeans, Soku Dakishimete, Ooki na Ai de Motenashite, and Wakkyanai (Z) are all way better songs than their first official single; Sakura Chirari.

LOL I'm sort of getting off topic. This is Take Two of my second entry on hype, simply titled C-ute. Back then I mentioned that the first song by this group I heard was FOREVER LOVE, and I also said that it's one of my favorites. Well...it's actually not. I like other songs by them much more, though it's still a good song.

Massara Blue Jeans is one of C-ute's most colorful songs. And by that I'm speaking of color coded lyrics. Compared to 13 of their other singles, MBJ is easily the most fair when it comes to solos. Sadly- Chisato, Saki and Mai don't get any solos, but it's still a pretty well divvied up song.

It's actually kind of cool when you look through all of their singles, and see that their 1st and 14th are the most colorful. Aitai Lonely Christmas is the (IMO) fairest song yet. Even though Airi does get more lines, all the other girls get a chance to sing. And that makes me SO HAPPY. Egah, I'm getting sidetracked again LOL. I'm supposed to be talking about MBJ.

Back in my early H!P days, I didn't like Massara Blue Jeans all that much. But the more I listened to it, the more it grew on me, and now I honestly LOVE it. It's an amazing debut song- upbeat, fun, catchy and the dance is great. That is one thing that cannot be denied when it comes to C-ute; they are fantastic dancers and always have awesome routines for singles.

I love Airi's "waratte LET'S GO" and Erika's "Don't stop the music" ~ And all the lines in the whole "Love Me! x4" part are awesome. Maimi and Megumi totally rock their last couple of solos in the chorus! I really do love this song.

I miss Megumi. And Airi will forever be a favorite of mine. I've always rooted for Chisato and am so glad that she's finally getting more notice!! Erika and Kanna I feel like I don't really know well enough as a fan to say. I took an interest in the group right around the time that they both graduated. Maimi I've liked from the beginning, but it started as a small-like and has grown since. Mai also had to grow on me, I really enjoyed her in Aitai Lonely Christmas! And Saki I think is adorable, but she's never been a top fave.
